Simulation Context
Domex is one of Unilever’s leading global brands, produced in over 80 countries and sold in more than 100. With a heritage of over 30 years, it is a trusted surface cleaner built on powerful hygiene and disinfection benefits. In many of its markets, Domex is either the market leader or a strong runner-up.
As consumer preferences shift and demand patterns evolve, Unilever teams are constantly challenged to adapt production capabilities, cost structures, and supply chain strategies to meet the expectations of both the market and the business.
In this simulation, you will join the Unilever as a Production Planning Specialist and you are given 3 tasks.
Tasks
- Shift Decision: Compare 4-shift in-house production with manufacturing partner (MP) outsourcing to meet new large-pack Domex demand.
- Line Upgrade: Recalculate production feasibility and investment efficiency based on a potential 10% capacity increase on the existing line.
- Find Alternatives: When initial options collapse, come up with a creative operational strategy to meet demand within fixed constraints.
